Care Instructions for candles
To care for a candle and use it to its full potential, follow these basic tips:
Before lighting the candle
- Shorten the wick: Keep the wick shortened to 5 mm to avoid excessive smoke and ensure a clean burn.
- Remove dirt: Remove wick residue or dust before lighting to avoid fire hazard.
- Place correctly: Make sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
During use
- Burning time: When burning for the first time, the wax should reach the edge of the candle to avoid tunnel burning.
- Burning time: For safety and quality reasons, the candle should not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Avoid draughts: Candles should not be placed near fans, ventilation shafts or draughts to avoid uneven burning and flickering.
Extinguishing candles
- Extinguish the flame: Use a candle extinguisher to extinguish the candle safely and without smoke.
- Do not blow too hard: Blowing too hard can splatter hot wax.
General safety
- Never leave unattended: Always supervise burning candles.
- Safety for children and pets: Keep candles out of their reach.
- Distance: Place several candles at least 10 cm apart.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place: Wax must not melt or warp, so candles should be kept away from heat and moisture.
- Avoid direct sunlight: UV radiation can cause colors to fade and fragrances to evaporate.
- Dust protection: Candles should be covered or stored in closed containers to ensure cleanliness.
Troubleshooting
- Tunneling: Wrap foil around the top and burn the candle until the wax is evenly distributed.
- Excessive soot: Check for draughts and keep the wick short.
- Weak fragrance: Ensure that the room is not too large for the candle's fragrance to spread and leave the candle to burn long enough.
With the right care, your candles will provide warmth and fragrance safely and efficiently!
